My personal challenge for 2016 is to learn to code. I love learning and having a growth mindset, and wanted to take on a challenge outside my work as an artist. Computing will be more and more a part of general literacy, so I decided to take it up. I want to learn more on how to design, create and express myself with digital technologies, and be able to speak and structure my thinking in a way a computer understands it. I also want to break to stereotype that programming is meant for just guys! :P #girlpower

How will I begin?

I've started by using online classes on Khan Academy. I feel so incredibly lucky that we live in an age where education is more and more readily available and accessible via the internet now. Khan Academy makes high-quality online videos free for anyone with an internet connection, covering subjects from science to history to programming. I've also checked out Lynda.com and Treehouse, and may take up courses there. If you've learned coding through an online platform, would you let me know what worked for you?

I will try to spend time everyday to learn, and am setting a goal to build something simple (an app? game? website?) by the end of the year that I can share with you.

Good luck on your goals and resolutions; thank you for sharing them with me in the previous post.

Let's rock 2016!
